ST501 Ultrasonic Energy Meter With Clamp-on Transducer
▍Product Information
ST501 is a high-accuracy ultrasonic flow meter with clamp-on transducers measuring big pipe diameter.which is built-in RTD module. When it is equipped with PT100 temperature sensor, ST501 can be upgraded into energy meter used for measuring individual energy consumption in any liquid heating/cooling systems. The meter is supplied complete with flowmeter and temperature sensor, making the system real-time detect the temperature of supply and return pipe.
The energy meter can be widely applied in various applications, like HVAC, cooling tower, data center, energy audit, and building(shipping mall, office, museum, hospital, school, subway etc.). Energy meter, also called thermal energy meter or heat meter, is used to accurately measure heat consumption in heating and cooling facilities so that the user can reach energy-saving and cost-saving.

▍Installation
◆ V Method
The "V" method is considered as the standard method. It usually gives more accurate reading and is used on pipe diameters ranging from 25mm to 400mm(1'' ~ 16'') approximately. Also, it's convenient to use, but still requires proper installation of the transducer, contact on the pipe at the pipe's centerline and equal spacing on either side of the centerline.
◆ Z Method
The signal transmitted in a "Z" method installation has less attenuation than a signal transmitter with the "V" method. This is because the "Z" method utilizes a directly transmitted(rather than reflected) signal which transverses the liquid only once. The "Z" method is able to measure on pipe diameters ranging from 100mm to 3000mm(4”~120”).
◆ N Method
With the "N" method, the sound waves transverse the fluid twice and bounce three times off the pipe walls. It's suitable for small pipe diameter measurement. The measurement accuracy can be improved by extending the transit distance with the "N" method(uncommonly used).
◆ W Method
As with the "N", the measurement accuracy can also be improved by extending the transit distance with the "W" method. The sound wave transverse the fluid four times and bounces four times off the pipe walls. It's suitable for very small pipe(diameter is less than 50mm/2'').
